Problem: You installed Safari Plugins (VST3) but they don’t appear in Studio One.
Step 1: Open Plugin Locations
Open Studio One → Preferences → Locations → VST Plug‑Ins.
Verify that the folder where Safari Plugins installed is listed:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/If the folder isn’t listed, click Add and select it.
Step 2: Rescan Plugins
In Locations → VST Plug‑Ins, click Reset Blacklist and Remove Settings Cache.
Click Scan at Startup or manually Start Scan to force a full rescan.
Restart Studio One and check if Safari Plugins appear in the Instruments/Effects browser.
Step 3: Clear Cache and Blacklist (macOS, VST3)
If the plugin still doesn’t appear:
Close Studio One.
Open Finder and navigate to:
~/Library/Application Support/PreSonus/Studio One 6/x64/Delete the following files:
PluginBlacklist.settings→ removes the plugin blacklistPlugInScanner.log→ forces a full plugin rescan
Reopen Studio One. It will rebuild the plugin database and rescan all VST3 plugins.
Step 4: Run Studio One in Rosetta (Optional)
Some plugins (even M1-compatible) work better under Rosetta emulation:
Go to Applications → Studio One 7.
Right-click the app → select Get Info.
Check Open using Rosetta.
Restart Studio One and test the plugins again.
Step 5: Verify Installation
Navigate to the plugin folder:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Confirm that the plugin files exist (
.vst3).If missing, reinstall Safari Plugins using the installer.
Tips / Troubleshooting
Only VST3 is required for Studio One (VST2 and AU are not used).
Clearing the blacklist and cache usually solves missing plugin issues.
Restart Studio One after rescanning or Rosetta mode changes.
Keep only the latest plugin versions to avoid conflicts.
