Problem: You installed Safari Plugins but they don’t appear or are not available in Logic Pro or MainStage.
Step 1: Open the Plug‑In Manager
Go to Logic Pro → Preferences → Plug-In Manager.
Filter by manufacturer to locate your Safari plugin easily.
Step 2: Rescan a Plugin
-
If the plugin appears but isn’t available:
Failed validation: Select the plugin → click Reset & Rescan Selection.
If the plugin fails validation again, check with Safari Pedals for compatibility updates with your macOS version.
Step 3: Reset All Audio Units
If the plugin doesn’t appear in the Plug-In Manager at all:
Open Logic Pro → Preferences → Plug-In Manager.
Click Full Audio Unit Reset.
Close Logic Pro and reopen it — Logic will rescan all installed Audio Units.
Check Logic Pro or MainStage to see if the plugin appears.
Step 4: Clear Audio Unit Cache (macOS)
If the plugin still doesn’t show up:
Close Logic Pro.
-
Open Finder and navigate to:
~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/ Delete the file:
com.apple.audiounits.cache.Reopen Logic Pro.
Restart your computer if needed.
Step 5: Verify Plugin Format and Path
Safari Plugins for Logic Pro use AU (Audio Units).
-
Default location:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ Confirm the plugin
.componentfile exists in this folder. If missing, reinstall via the Safari Pedals installer.
Step 6: Restart Logic
After rescanning or resetting, always close and reopen Logic to refresh the plugin list.
Step 7: Update Logic / Plugins
Make sure Logic Pro and Safari Plugins are updated to the latest versions.
Check Safari Pedals Downloads Page for plugin updates.
Tips / Troubleshooting
Always keep AU plugins in the default Components folder for proper DAW recognition.
If the plugin repeatedly fails validation, verify compatibility with your macOS version.
Resetting all Audio Units or clearing the cache usually resolves hidden or blocked plugins.
For persistent issues, contact Safari Pedals support with macOS version, Logic version, and plugin name.
